As part of last months ChinaTechTrips we visited many different New Retail initiatives in China. Among these were several concepts for unmanned stores that are currently being rolled out in China. One of these concept is JD X, an unmanned store by JD.com (a.k.a. Jing Dong), China’s second largest e-commerce company after Alibaba. In this video Ed demonstrates how these shops works, using WeChat mini programs, QR codes and facial recognotion for payment.
